We are reading ‘The Pied Piper of Hamelin’ by Michael Morpurgo. We created two freeze frames, set in a kitchen of an old town in Germany. One where everyone is gathered ready to eat a meal and another where they suddenly see a rat has entered the kitchen! We then discussed what they would be thinking and saying to one another!

Whilst reading the book we discussed whether the Mayor should pay the Pied Piper after he has got rid of the rats. We came up with lots of reasons for and against paying him. We then did a ‘Conscience Alley’,  where the mayor walked down the line with people shouting what he should do and why!
